Replicator Prototype Now Available
While the final goal of this project is to release Replicator on the iOS AppStore there's no reason why I can't share the early builds here with those who are willing to join me on this journey. The builds are just simple WebGL builds of the game and for a number of reasons may not behave as intended. However, I do want to get as much feedback on the early designs as possible so that I can avoid developing something that isn't fun to play.
This build includes a few minor fixes over the build referenced in the previous post. These fixes are mostly visual, but here's a list of what's changed. (Not that you can even play the iPhone build to compare).
- Shortened "Energy" to "E" so that it will fit nicely in the UI bar
- Increased speed of Repli relative to the food. This should allow them to catch food rather than requiring to wait for it to stop.
- Allowed Foodspawners to die as soon as they run out of inventory.
- Adjusted screen size scaling to improve the way the game will look on different screen resolutions.
As I've said before, this particular build of the game is mostly to provide proof of concept and core functionality. In version 0.2 I will be looking to make a bit more progress on adding some elements of choice and strategy to the game.
